Mass Spectrometry of Proteins (CHM283/BENG208) This course is offered in the spring quarter every year and contains a laboratory component in addition to the lecture series. The lectures will introduce the participants to the principals of protein mass spectrometry. In the laboratory section students will carry out experiments to determine the sequence of unknown proteins using ESI-QTOF instruments. In addition, experiments to determine post translational modification of proteins such as phosphorylation will be planned and carried out. Students will also get expert training on the operations of theESI-QTOF instrument.
The facility is supported by the NIH shared instrumentation grant numbers
S10 OD016234 (Synapt-HDX-MS) and S10 OD021724 (LUMOS Orbi-Trap).
Please reference these grant numbers for publications resulting from data obtained from these instrumentations.
