Instrumentation

The Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry Facility houses instrumentation that has mainly been obtained through NIH Shared Instrumentation Grants, UCSD funding, and recharges. The instruments are primarily for analysis of proteins and peptides with a primary focus on protein identification and characterization of complex mixtures of proteins (proteomics).

Here are the list of our LC-MS systems:

1) Bruker timsTOF Pro 2  mass spectrometer coupled with EVOSEP ONE UPnLC system.

2) Bruker timsTOF SCP mass spectrometer coupled with EVOSEP ONE UPnLC system.

3) Thermo LUMOS Orbitrap (With ETD) mass spectrometer coupled with Vanquish Neo UPnLC system.

4) Thermo Orbitrap Exploris 480 mass spectrometer coupled with Vanquish Neo UPnLC system.
